About Me

I’m a writer, researcher, and lover of digging into the nitty-gritty details of whatever subject I’m working on.

I grew up in the Bay Area rooting for the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees (I was born in NYC, give me a break!). That love of baseball led me to read the works of pioneering baseball analyst Bill James, who first sparked my love of working with data.

Luckily for me, I was able to combine my interest in data with my passion for writing while working as head researcher and, later, economic development reporter for the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

After four years at the Journal, I decided I wanted to really dive deep into data science, so I left the paper to study while working as a freelance writer. I’m currently taking courses in SQL, R and statistics on Coursera, Udacity and Datacamp.
